Art Therapy in schools

For students

Art therapy when delivered in school can offer children support early on when they have difficulties, which may in some cases avoid them needing to be taken out of school to attend therapy sessions.

I offer sessions with individual children or small groups, which may or may not involve parents, caregivers, special educational needs (SEN) representatives and teachers. Art psychotherapy provides a safe space for children to express their feelings and experiences through art that does not rely on verbal communication, supporting children's emotional and mental health, which may also benefit their schoolwork.

For staff

Art making opportunities can also benefit staff when offered to groups or individuals creating opportunities to reflect. Art Therapy has the benefits of both improving classroom behaviour and supporting staff wellbeing and retention and reducing staff burnout.

Art Therapy can help with:

Attachment difficultiesAnxiety and Stress, Bereavement, Bullying, Depression and low mood, Emotion dysregulation, Friendships and relationships, Health and disability, Low Confidence and Self-Esteem, Neurodiversity, School and exam stress, Self harm, Sleep, Suicide ideation, Trauma.

I have an Enhanced Certificate from the Disclosure and Barring Service available to view on the update service. I offer a no fee initial consultation to discuss your needs and those of your students or staff.
